Harlan Kleiman recently served as a consultant at Medical Management Systems, Inc., in Wayzata, Minnesota, where he introduced the company to new medical institutions. Currently, Harlan Kleiman is in the process of developing a company within the healthcare field to assist Medicare and Medicaid patients with self-care at home. While away from work obligations, he enjoys reading books written by Michael Connelly.

Author Michael Connelly is well-known for his crime novels, and best known for his “Hieronymus Harry Bosch” series. Michael Connelly’s mother was very much into crime fiction, which ultimately contributed to his interest in the genre.

In addition to his mother’s reading preferences, an actual crime also inspired him. During the 1970s, Michael Connelly was driving home and witnessed a man who was running down the street stop and ditch something in a hedge. He decided to get out of the car and see what the man had hidden. It happened to be a gun wrapped in a towel, so he put it back in the hedge, drove home and told his father. After calling the police, he was interviewed by detectives. It turned out that the gun had been used in a murder-robbery, and Michael Connelly became intrigued by the entire experience.
